Presentation Guidelines
Invited presentations are 30 minutes long plus 5 minutes for questions. The total time allotted for invited presentations is 35 minutes, including the time to change speakers and start your presentation. The Session Chair will inform you 25 minutes after the scheduled start time of your talk that you have 5 minutes remaining to speak, followed by 5 minutes for questions and switching speakers.
Contributed oral presentations are 15 minutes long plus 5 minutes for questions. The total time allotted for contributed presentations is 20 minutes, including the time to change speakers and start your presentation. The Session Chair will inform you 12 minutes after the scheduled start time of your talk that you have 3 minutes remaining to speak, followed by 5 minutes for questions and switching speakers.
We ask that you plan your time accordingly. Speakers will be held to the program schedule so that all speakers have their scheduled amount of speaking time.
Equipment
A PC computer running Windows XP and a Mac computer running OSX 6.3 will be available in the Speaker Ready Room (Arkansas Room, 2nd floor of the Sheraton Hotel) for speakers to test their presentations (check fonts, resolution, graphics, etc.) in advance.
Windows XP and Mac OSX computers will be set up in the Conference Meeting room to display your presentation via Powerpoint or Open Office. We strongly encourage you to load your presentation by USB memory stick onto one of the Conference computers and to perform a final test that it displays as planned, well in advance of your talk. This is best done in the morning before the first talk of the day, or if necessary, during the break preceding your talk. Your presentation file will be deleted from the Conference computers by the end of the day. A standard VGA (15 pin DB-type) connector will be provided if you prefer not to use one of the conference computers. However, please be aware that you do this at your own risk. If delays in starting up your presentation, graphics display problems, etc. should occur, no extra time will be allotted for your presentation.
