APS Tour Information

The APS Tour will be held on Friday afternoon, August 20 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The tour buses depart from the Convention Entrance (east entrance, level 3) of the Sheraton Hotel & Towers shortly after the closing of the meeting, at approximately 12:30 p.m.  The buses will return to the Sheraton by about 6:30 p.m.

Clearance to Argonne National Laboratory

Prior registration for the tour is required and is now closed. We need to collect some final information from each participant registered for the tour by Thursday, August 19.  INS information will be required for foreign nationals (passport, visa and status document).  U.S. citizens will need to present a government photo ID. Please bring your INS documents or government photo ID for verification to the XRM2010 Registration Desk no later than noon on Thursday, August 19. This will enable you to receive a badge to enter Argonne to attend the APS Tour. Visitor badges will be available for pick-up at the Sheraton Convention Entrance prior to boarding the buses. You must show your Argonne visitor badge and government photo ID in order to board the bus for the Tour.

Box Lunches

There will be very little time to eat after the morning meeting session finishes before departing for the tour. To maximize the tour length, we suggest people purchase a box lunch prior to boarding the bus to eat on the bus before arriving at Argonne.  Participants will have the opportunity to purchase box lunches at $14 USD each.  The selections are either 1) smoked turkey sandwich or 2) grilled vegetable wrap.  Please let Rose Torres know no later than Monday, August 16 if you wish to purchase a box lunch and please include your selection in the e-mail.  The form of payment can be either by credit card or cash and can be paid in advance of the conference or at the conference site no later than noon Thursday, August 19.  The box lunches will be available for pick up at the lunch display which will be set by the Convention Entrance a little before the buses load. You will need to present the paid receipt to collect the box lunch.
